Principal's Message
Tony Toynes, Principal
Greetings and welcome to the Mary E. Smithey PACE High School webpage. For 22 years, I have had the pleasure of working in education as a school administrator, with 11 of those years in Duncanville ISD.
I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of the PACE family and look forward to this new school year, which offers new opportunities for students to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Our goal is to provide PACE students with a nurturing and supportive environment to achieve one of their greatest accomplishments, a high school diploma.
As each of our committed faculty and staff work diligently to raise the academic bar for our students, we recognize that your support is needed as well; parental support is paramount to a student’s educational success.
Students, we encourage you to use your rearview mirror for reflections only, then recognize that the most important view is ahead of you which is where your future lies. Allow that view to motivate you to move forward as you attain your goal of a

high school diploma. We want you to remember that PACE is where we write success stories, one student at a time.
Sincerely,
Tony Toynes
